Company
Ackee.com is operated DALMORE LLC d/b/a ACKEE NETWORK. Ackee began operations in November 1997 under the ownership of WebVentures Jamaica which was incorporated in Jamaica WI and New York USA. The first incarnation of this website was the widely popular Jamaica WhereRU?℠, the Jamaican Email Search Engine. The website offered a "white-pages" directory where searches for individuals were based on criteria such as school, location, occupation and other criteria to find e-mail addresses.
Recognizing the need for other Jamaican oriented resources on the internet and the benefit of finding them all in one location, WHEYYUHDEH℠, Mekwitalk℠, Ackee.com Business and Commercial Directory (ABCD℠), and Jamaica WhereRU?℠ were consolidated under the name Ackee.com℠.
Australia. Europe. Asia. South America. Jamaicans have certainly found themselves in some very foreign places. Ackee operates on the assumption that, through the years, Jamaicans have become detached and scattered around the world. Ackee endeavours to bring our fellow Jamaican friends, and family, together again.
